2026 - Fall Retreats

Fall Women’s Retreat

Ages: 18+

Sept 26, 2026

Registration: $50

Tarina Stroh has walked with the Lord from a young age and carries a deep calling to help children know Jesus and grow in their faith. She serves as the Children’s Pastor at Hillcrest Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she ministers alongside her husband and high school sweetheart, Brian, who serves as Executive Pastor. Together, they have faithfully served the church for over 25 years.

In addition to her pastoral role, Tarina has spent 26 years in education, including 21 years in the same pre-kindergarten classroom. Whether at church or in the classroom, her heart is to reflect Christ’s love and point children to Him through patience, joy, and intentional care.

Tarina is the proud mom of four “grown-ish” children. Her oldest son, Riley, is married to Ann and lives in Arizona, where he teaches high school math and coaches. Her son Wesley works in commercial HVAC in Sioux Falls and serves faithfully on the worship team as a drummer. Her youngest son, Charley, is a sophomore at the University of St. Thomas, and her daughter, Kinsley, will begin studying at the University of Sioux Falls in fall 2026.

Tarina’s life and ministry reflect her love for Jesus and her desire to serve Him faithfully in every season.

Sam has had a long and meaningful connection with Camp Joy. As a former counselor, he experienced firsthand the impact camp can have on young people. For the past 32 years, Sam and his church have continued that connection by coming to Camp Joy annually to serve and volunteer, faithfully supporting the ministry and helping make camp possible for countless campers.

Sam currently serves as the Student Ministry Pastor at Calvary’s Roseville Campus, where he leads Summit, the ministry for high school students (Grades 9–12). In this role, Sam invests deeply in students and their families, guiding programs and equipping leaders to help students grow in their faith and walk with Christ.

With a heart for discipleship and a long history with Camp Joy, Sam brings both passion and experience in helping the next generation encounter Christ and build lasting faith.

We are excited to host a weekend of fellowship, fun, thanksgiving and praise. This weekend is geared towards teens ages 13-18. Our goal is to pack a weekend full of worship and praise to prepare students for another school year and also just life.

Camp Joy welcomes youth groups and their leaders to attend as well! If a youth group leader is not present, we will have staff on site. All youth group leaders will attend at no charge.
